Etude; The Autumn Ball
and it was so

Within her arrondissements I walked and walked and, as though waking from a dream too perfect, realized what I had been missing — a joie de vivre.
The trees were dressed in flame for the Autumn Ball; the gardens were adorned in castor bells and leadwort garlands.
This would be a cheerful winter, I thought. And so it was.
