Father keeps a most industrious spirit, but when we travel, he privileges me to serve his keeper.

Through two countries, we saw and ate and admired. We spent a cheerful two weeks, and together made long the shortest days of the year.

The months later would be hard, but these memories were such lovely embers. Warm, they kept my hearth.
